Our collaboration with the Orchestra began in 2019. Houltonsmets was tasked with evolving the image of the Orchestra with the ambition of broadening their appeal to a wider audience. We focused on highlighting their commitment and contribution to the community which is driven by the musicians. The orchestra can be found giving concerts throughout the community, from care homes to prisons.
In order to translate the orchestra’s commitment to diversity, inclusion and community, we decided to collaborate with with the street photographer, Jean-Baptiste Pellerin.
Jean-Baptiste work captures the poetry of everyday life in the heart of Paris, portraits that reflect the diversity and individuality that makes Paris unique. After each portrait, each of his subjects was asked to select and listen to a piece of music by the Orchestra and offer a spontaneous reaction. The results were as surprising and as touching as the portraits.
